Remembering my vocational call

by Sr Diva da Luz Regazzo

I remember when I used to visit my grandparents; my still-childish eyes would gaze at the pictures and images of saints hanging on the walls of the house.

The rosary hanging over the bed also piqued my curiosity! I loved to contemplate the lush nature on the farm where I was born.

Now, as I look back on so many years of religious life as a contemplative sister in the Congregation of Our Lady of Sion, I realise that my journey has not been without difficulties along the way. Yet above all, I can see that the most difficult moments were overcome with the grace of God, and the testimony and support of community life.

It was Mary who led me

It was on January 20th, during a Mass attended by several apostolic sisters, that I reached an inner understanding that it was Mary who led me to La Solitude.

What I would like to see happen for everyone: peace, harmony and joy

From working in the stable to taking care of the church as a sacristan and receiving visitors, I have learned to experience the Charism of Sion in welcoming guests, in silence, in meditating on the Word, and before the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. In my daily work and activities, I deepen the meaning of a contemplative life that praises and intercedes for humanity, practicing in day-to-day life what I long to see realised for all: peace, harmony and joy.
