Mondays 6:30-8:30 from August 9th to November 29th
Facilitator: Luis Bolaños

The course Religious Movements in the time of Jesus deals with the sociology of the land of Israel in the time of Jesus of Nazareth. Through a historical overview, we cover the origin and evolution of the main religious groups in the period of the Second Temple, so as to understand their presence in the land of Israel in the first half of the first century of our time.

INTRODUCTION TO THE SECOND TESTAMENT WORKSHOP I
Tuesdays 9:00-11:00 am from August 3rd to November 16th
Facilitator: David Castillo

This course seeks to introduce the literature we know as the Second or New Testament, in its literary, historical, and theological aspects. This first module is focused on the Gospels, seeking to understand the historical circumstances that led to their birth in the midst of the early Christian movement, their diversity of propositions about Jesus, and their relevance for life today.

INTRODUCTION TO THE PSALMS WORKSHOP
Tuesdays 6:30 to 8:30 pm from August 3rd to November 16th
Facilitator: Rocío Cano

The Psalms gather the fruits of approximately six centuries of community life in Israel. Each psalm is a poem, the result of concrete life situations of a people, whose authors expressed what they were thinking, living and feeling. We will study this special feature of the book, considering also that these poems continue to speak to us today in our realities, because, just as they belonged to the people of Israel, so they belong to us today, as material through which God speaks to us and through which we speak to Him.

Facilitators: Giselle Zamora and Hernán Rodríguez

This is an introductory on-line workshop, that seeks to introduce participants to St. Paul and his work in general, through a critical and participatory study. It covers the main classical sources that provide information on this subject and, of course, the relevant New Testament texts.

Studying the Bible is indispensable for every Christian who wants to know his or her faith. Based on the reading of the book Ciudad Biblia by Xabier Pikaza and with the intention of updating our knowledge, this course aims to introduce us to the fundamental elements for reading the Bible, its historical and cultural context, as well as its spiritual value for the life of the believer in Jesus Christ.
