| Diary
of the contemplative house |

Saturday
11 April:
At 7.30 in the morning we left our dear Mother House, with
Mother Borromée and, after a short visit to Evry,
we arrived at Grandbourg. Everyone welcomed us with such
kindness and affection.
But what a joy to be setting up the contemplative community
completely once again! We visited “La Solitude”
– there is still a lot to do but people have already
been working hard for us there – how grateful we are,
may God bless our dear, kind helpers.
12 April:
A beautiful High Mass – and beautiful offices in a
rejuvenated Grandbourg (by that I mean the buildings and
garden). We had recreation with our former companions, and
then we entered into our recollection: our home was in ‘Paradise’!
that we are having to leave in order to go into our Solitude…!
13 April:
We start work again, with determination, we are getting
everything ready to receive the furniture, hoping it will
soon be here.
19 April:
Surprise, it is snowing! We are missing Exposition of the
Blessed Sacrament so much. We are trying not to miss our
times of adoration. Notre Mère gives us a little
spiritual talk, and assigns our cells to us at the Solitude.

“Our little chapel
is now set up
in what used to be
Notre Père’s parlour.”

24 April:
Things are going ahead at last for the Chapel and Sacristy,
and as for ourselves, we will manage alright! The priests
are very good to us, we will have Exposition of the Blessed
Sacrament, Mass once a fortnight and Confession once a fortnight
too, here in the house, thanks be to God.
25 April:
Deo Gratias, Mass at 7 am by Fr Bruzat, chaplain at Evry.
Our Lord is with us!
26 April:
Mass at Grandbourg at 8am. … Ah! if only we could have
daily Mass later on!

« The
landslides at Fourvière
brought us to the Solitude,
we started again in strict poverty,
we had to go to Grandbourg for Mass,
there were so few of us,
but we trusted in God
and we were happy. » |
